WEC August 5th

World Extreme Cagefighting has announced the two headlining bouts for its August 5th show, an event that will be broadcast live on Versus from The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The main even features a highly anticipated pairing of Carlos Condit vs. Brock Larson . The two superstars in the making will battle it out for the WEC Welterweight title. This will be Condit’s first title defense since choking out John Alessio in March to capture the title, and it will be no easy task vs. the 22-1 Larson. Both fighters are comfortable no matter where the fight takes place and have shown well rounded abilities in previous matches.

The co-main event will feature the debut of the undefeated Brazilian sensation and recent Pride import Paolo Filho vs. the much experienced Joe Doerksen for the vacant WEC Middleweight Championship. Filho has amassed a perfect 14-0 record in his career and looks to add another notch on his belt against Doerksen.
